A unique approach, the new Carter-Ryan gallery at 705 Main Street in Canmore is a terrific addition to our art gallery offerings. Drop in and meet Jason Carter, acclaimed soapstone carver and painter. ‘Bold’ and ‘brilliant’ are two words that have often been used to describe Jason’s work, and I agree. The gallery is different in that it hosts live music and cabaret style shows. You can also see live art demonstrations on weekends. See their website for their current New York city cabaret-style piano show entitled “Stand Up and Sing” running nightly through April 7th. To book a reservation go to their website – carter-ryan.com. >D.

As another day of snow piles up in the mountains I must extend my most sincere condolences for those of you who live out east (I’m an ex-Ontario gal myself – learned to ski at Georgian Peaks). Really people, it’s time to book your holiday to Canmore and take advantage of our 40+ year record snowfalls. Sunshine Village for example reports ALL TIME SNOWFALL RECORD 908cm (30ft), YTD SNOWFALL 877cm (28ft) 31cm (12in) TO GO!! Lake Louise, Nakiska and Mt. Norquay are also in stellar shape for a spring ski trip.
Well, you must check out Canmore’s newest Spa — ONE WELLNESS — located at 187 Kananaskis Way (across from Falcon Crest Lodge). I just did and it’s absolutely amazing. Pamper yourself with a strength and performance sports massage, indulge in a pedicure/manicure, choose from a full menu of Spa treatments, try a private pilates session or….whatever! Founders Hugh and Leslie have done an incredible job creating a gorgeous facility with a serene, luxurious ambiance, first class equipment and professional services that will make your Spa day an “Experience Canmore” highlight.
Relax in the waiting room prior to your treatment.
Ease your pain with a private pilates session...
Watch the snow fall while your nails get gorgeous...
